Large Horizontal Crankshaft Side Valve
This series of engines are usually to be found on a variety of utility applications such as Tillers, Rotovators, Garden Tractors, Cylinder Mowers, Generators, Pumps, Bale Lifters, Go Carts etc.
They are side valve with the spark plug on top of the engine, set in the centre of the cylinder head cooling fins.
The fuel tank will either be at the rear with the carburettor mounted directly on it, or will be mounted to the top of the engine above the carb level. Some applications may have the tank mounted away from the engine.
The pull start will be on the side with the crankshaft emerging horizontally on the opposite side.
The Model, Type and Code numbers are either stamped into the metal engine cowling (on top next to the spark plug or down one of the flat sides usually behind the air filter), or on a small aluminium plate rivited to the face of the cowling
The Model number will begin either 14,17,19,22,23,24,25.
