Vanguard Twin Horizontal Engine Parts
This series of engines are usually to be found on a variety of industrial applications such as Generators, Pumps, Compressors, Winches,
Diamond Cutters, Floor Cleaners, etc. They have also been utilised on Hovercrafts and other vehicles.
They have a "V" twin cylinder arrangement with the air filter set on top between the cylinder heads.
They are overhead valve with the spark plugs set fairly deep to the side of each rocker cover.
The fuel tank will either be remote (seperate from the engine) or mounted to the top with provision for the air filter within the tank moulding.
If there is a pull start, this will be on the side, with the crankshaft emerging horizontally on the opposite side.
Electric start only versions have a flat mesh covering the flywheel on the side. There is also an option for a drive shaft extension on the flywheel side.
The Model, Type and Code numbers are either stamped into a small aluminium plate rivited to the pressed steel engine cowling or stamped into the side or top face
of one of the rocker covers. The Model number will begin either 29,30,35,38,54 or 61.
