Instructions for Operating Piston Ring Compressors
- After placing the rings into the grooves on piston, enclose the piston and rings in the compressor.
- Make certain rings are fully entered into the groves
- Tighten compressor by turning handle to right until rings are compressed sufficiently to enter cylinder.
- After tightening the compressor the handle may be removed. The automatic friction brake holds the compressor at the desired tension.
- The friction brake may be adjusted by turning the screws on the side of the compressor. Turn right to increase tension and turn left to reduce it.
- When loosening the compressor, turn the handle SLOWLY to left. too rapidly may damage the tension band.
- Keep compressor clean. Dirt or grit between the tension band and compression band will damage the former.
- USE PLENTY OF OIL.
